Killester driving test centre

Most of our learners sit here. Where it is, what testers mark, and how we practise it.

Where is Killester test centre?

The RSA Killester driving test centre is at St Brigid’s Parish Resource Centre, 306 Howth Road, Killester, Dublin 5, D05 FF96.

It's a busy city test. Ramps, bus stops, parked cars, people stepping out. Practising around here helps more than trying to memorise one route.

The examiner can take you anywhere nearby.

What testers look for

Same RSA marking sheet as everywhere else. The stuff that loses marks here is local.

  • Late mirrors and observation on Howth Road and Collins Avenue
  • Poor positioning beside parked cars and bus lanes
  • Rushing ramps or failing to read the road ahead
  • Hesitation that becomes a hazard at busier junctions
  • Turnabout and reverse in tight residential streets

Paul runs the pretest like the real thing, then we go through the faults after.

Roads we practise

From Raheny it's Howth Road, Watermill and the old run in. From Clontarf it's the coast road and Fairview. From Artane and Coolock it's Collins Avenue and the Malahide Road junctions. If you're in Killester village we just do the last bit before you park at the resource centre.

If your date is booked, say so on WhatsApp. We'll put you with Paul and spend the hour on test habits.

Need the car on the day? €180 is a one-hour pretest plus our car for the test. That covers the newer insurance rules too, so you're not hunting for a cert that morning.

Killester test questions

Do I have to take the test at Killester if I live in Raheny?

No. You pick the centre on MyRoadSafety. Most people on the Northside still pick Killester because it's closest. We prep for Killester unless you tell us otherwise.

Should I learn the official Killester test routes by heart?

Learn the area, not one video. Examiners change the run. We just practise the junctions that keep coming up.

How many lessons do I need before a Killester test?

You need 12 EDT hours (or 6 if you qualify for reduced EDT) and to have held your first permit for six months. Extra practice around the test area is usually what decides a first-time pass. Book a pretest the week before.
